The family unit is extremely important. Christ has set this up to model so many different things. For example: the marriage union represents the relationship we as the church have with Jesus Christ. Jesus came as the groom to show his unending love for his bride the church. So men are supposed to love their wives as Jesus Christ loved the Church. Parents are to model discipleshp in the way that we interact with our chidren. We are to lead them as Christ leads us. We as parents are the main source of Biblical examples that our children will encounter. The church comes along side to offer resources and assistance where available.
